    wETH Deposit Rate

    Calculate the deposit rate of wETH over time on Osmosis. How does this compare to SushiSwap and Thorchain now? How does the wETH deposit rate compare to when wETH was a relatively new asset (or the protocol was relatively new)? Is Osmosis growing at a faster rate than Thorchain and Sushiswap?

    What is Osmosis?

    Osmosis is a decentralized peer-to-peer blockchain that people can use to create liquidity and trade IBC enabled tokens. The Osmosis blockchain is made up of free, public, and open-source software.

    Methodology

    • We will look at the deposits and withdraws of wETH on Osmosis and Sushiswap.

    • We are looking to see how deposits differ between DEXs.

    Observations

    • Most days since May 16th there has been between 100 and 350 WETH liquidity providers.

    • generally the WETH deposit volume on Osmosis has been between 50 and 200 WETH each day.

    Observations

    • When WETH pools were first released on SushiSwap there was a huge spike in dpoistors going over 2,000 in a single day.

    • Since April 2021 the number of users depositing WETH into Sushiswap each day has been on a gradual decline.

    Observations

    • When WETH first launched on Thorchain over 40 users deposited weth on the first day.

    • Most days the WETH deposits on THORchain stay below 400 WETH.

    Conclusion

    • When WETH launched on Osmosis the number/volume of deposits was greater than Thorchains launch but less than Sushiswaps launch.

    • Given that WETH is a base pair on Sushiswap the WETH pool event was very successful on Osmosis compared to both Thorchain and Sushiswap.
