Opensea Fees
\
Goal:
Finding the income of OpenSea through Polygon transactions.
Questions:
- Find the wallet that collects Opensea fees.
- how much Opensea has earned through Polygon transactions?
Solutions:
The first step to answering the above question is finding OpenSea addresses that collect 2.5% of sales volume as fees.
based on my analysis, these two addresses collect fees:
- 0x8De9C5A032463C561423387a9648c5C7BCC5BC90
- 0x5b3256965e7C3cF26E11FCAf296DfC8807C01073
The next challenge we are facing is the currency collects by the above addresses is not the same. As you know each collection on OpenSea is paid with different currency.
There is three major currency in OpenSea:
- WETH
- USDC
- DAI
As you can see, WETH used more than 222K as paid currency. DAI and USDC are far from it.
In this dashboard, I calculate fees paid by the above currencies.
This chart shows how many of each currency is paid as fees to OpenSea.
The units are not the same and are based on each token so we can compare to each other.
Anyway, if we look closely, it is clear that WETH is more than the others.
In the next charts, I try to convert each of these amounts to USD to make a precise comparison.
This chart shows how much is paid as fees to OpenSea per day.
According to my analysis:
- The highest income of OpenSea was on June 15th with more than 700 thousand dollars. 99% of this income was WETH.
- The lowest income of OpenSea was on June 6th with around 135 thousand dollars. 99% of this income was WETH too.
As you can see, OpenSea’s income has decreased over time.
This chart shows most of the tokens collected by collector addresses are WETH.
The reason for this happens is that most of the collections are traded with WETH in OpnSea, as a result, OpenSea’s income is with the same token.
