ENS subscriber's Ethereum interactions
ENS subscriber's model brings in alot of revenue to the protocol. But when a ENS is registered by an User, are these merely seen on a profit standpoint or being seen as an identity on the blockchain.
In this dashboard we will look at the transaction volume of users who have registered ENS domains.
We will retrieve NameRegistered
event emitted by ENS REgistrar to identify users who have registered a ENS domains. We will then use ethereum.transactions
table to cross-reference these users to find their transaction volume. Further we will also see if there are patterns in ENS subscribers and their transaction volume.
First we will look at the transaction volume of ENS registerers.
The bulk of the users fall in the 10 to 100 transactions bucket. Followed by 100 to 1000 transactions. There are quite alot of users with less than 10 transactions. This is understandable as DeFi is a recent phenomenon, and hence transaction before a year ago were less in number, other than trades. However, the combination of higher gas fees and cheaper L2 have reduced transaction volume.
In search of patterns, we will look into Revenue generated, Users and number of Domains owned based on the number of transactions and Amount of USD spent on subscriptions
Most of the revenue is generated by Users who have made 10 to 1000 transactions and have spend over 100 USD on ENS domains. This means, these users are likely to get more that 5 years on their Domains renewals
However, bulk of the ENS domains are registered by Users who have made 10 to 100 transactions and spend 10 to 100 USD on ENS domains.
This is an interesting trend as, the supposedly middle class bring in the lot of revenue, while the decentralization or spread of the domains is owned by the supposedly lower class of users.
