RocketPool Activity

RocketPool is a Trustless ETH2 staking service, with a liquid Staking Token, that provided Staking as a Service, a Decentralized Service. In this dashboard, we will look at the general inflow into the RocketPool staking service.

A ETH deposit to RocketPool is done by calling the Deposit function on rETH contract(0xae78736cd615f374d3085123a210448e74fc6393) and sending the amount of ETH. This will emit a TokensMinted event, which carries user information and the amount of ETH deposited. Getting this event data, we can track the number of deposits and amount of ETH deposited.

Plotting the daily amount of ETH deposited and transactions made:

    • We can see that RocketPool deposits peaked twice, once during December and the 2nd time during March
    • The 2nd peak took place during late March, which was the Merge hype train in full flow.

Plotting the Average and Median deposits, and the difference between these two:

    • We can see that most days Average deposit is greater than Median deposit
    • This is probably because, most days, there is outliers that pull the Average away from the Median
    • However, since March, the difference has dropped to 10 or below on a consistent basis, while amount of Deposits have stayed between 50 to 500 ETH daily
    • This means most of the deposits are evenly distributed, with very low outliers, suggesting the protocol might be reaching a plateau or equilibrium stage, from which it might need more innovation to push it to the next stage of adoption.
