RUNE is the native asset of THORchain, vital for maintaining the diverse native Liquidity Pools. In this dashboard, we will look at the daily and weekly volume of RUNE being transferred around.

We will use the thorchain.transfers table, that curates the RUNE transfer data for easy usage by analysts. Aggregating on a daily and weekly timescale.

The plots above show RUNE transfers on a daily timescale. From these we can deduce

• Over time, RUNE transfers peaked and plateaued pre and post the Ethereum Hack and has dwindled ever since.
• The volume of RUNE and its USD valuation however has peaked and declined only recently.
• Since the transaction volume has dropped significantly, its likely that we are seeing more RUNE being transferred per transaction, and increased whale activity.

The weekly timescale graphs above show the data in a much more cleaner way, reducing the noise.

• Over time, the chain has hit Million+ transactions almost every week
• Last few months has seen 2 Million transaction every week, declined from 3 Million transactions.
• RUNE and USD volume on the other hand, peaked post March
• At peak, almost 4 Billion USD worth RUNE or 340 Million RUNE were transferred across the network in a week.
