Top Sushi Pools
Sushiswap is one of the most popular DEXes in the Ethereum. Despite its questionable origin story, it has regained most of its status since its ignominy. One of the major advantages that Sushiswap has over other DEXes is that, its available on almost all EVM chains.
In this dashboard we will compare the top pools in Ethereum mainnet and Polygon sidechain, by USD volume.
WETH-USD stablecoin pairs are the leading pairs followed by WETH pairs of SUSHI and WBTC. This means almost 50% of all swap volume on ETH is into a WETH-USD pair.
While WETH-USD pairs are in the top, WMATIC pairs are containing significant volume in Polygon network Sushiswap. TITAN pairs in Sushiswap were ignored due to their anomalous price data.
Comparing volumes of the top 10 Pools in Ethereum and Polygon..
Ethereum still has the most of volume. This was evident as Polygon is slightly more centralized than Ethereum and Ethereum is battle tested and a more secure network.
Sushiswap's stablecoin pool in Ethereum faces insurmountable challenge from Curve. In Polygon thats not the case.
DAI-USDC is the most used pool in Sushiswap. However, stable pools are rare sight on Sushiswap on Mainnet, due to the existence of Curve.
There is a wider variety of options in Polygon, with USDC-USDT and USDC-DAI being the main pairs. Other pairs make up less than 5 percent of the total volume.
Comparing the Ethereum and Polygon pools ...
We see that when comparing stablecoin only volumes, we see that Polygon dwarfs Ethereum. Two possible reasons are :
- Low fees on Polygon means, Arbitrage transactions are frequency
- Curve is the goto destination for stableswaps in Ethereum, hence Ethereum volume is bound to be low.
