Who's Got The Flow?
Flow is a blockchain designed from the ground up for mainstream adoption and is the only blockchain that builds usability improvements into the protocol layer. Top developers and some of the world's largest brands are already building on Flow, enabling completely new experiences with top-tier content.
Flow has a rich ecosystem comprised of top entertainment brands, development studios, and venture-backed startups. Flow ecosystem partners include global IP brands like Warner Music, Ubisoft, NBA and UFC; leading game developers, including Animoca Brands, Sumo Digital and nWay; leaders in crypto, such as Circle and Binance; as well as several noteworthy projects among the next generation of high-growth startups, including Opensea.
The FLOW token (“FLOW”) is the native currency for the Flow network and the keystone for a new, inclusive, and borderless digital economy. If Flow is the digital infrastructure, FLOW token is the fuel that powers the network. FLOW is the currency required for the network and all the applications on top of it to function. FLOW is designed as a payment method as well as a long-term reserve asset for the entire Flow economy. The token is used by validators, developers, and users to participate in the FLOW network and earn rewards. It is also used for fees and to participate in future protocol governance.
In this bounty, we were asked to build a list of rankings to find the address with the most FLOW tokens.
For this purpose, I used the flow.core.fact_events table. By minusing the value of ‘TokensWithdrawn' event value from 'TokensDeposited' event value, we can calculate the actual net $Flow balance of a wallet.

‘0x8624b52f9ddcd04a’ is the Only wallets that holds more than 0.5 B $Flow. This wallet hold 0.628 B $Flow.
The other top wallets holds less than 0.1 B $ Flow.
If we gather all the $Flow in the wallets of these top 10 addresses, we can see that more than 88% of this balance is in the wallets of the top 2 holders.
From these top wallets, we can see the trend of balance during time for 3 of them.
If we sort the wallets with labels based on their balance, we reach to the last chart above. You can see that among top wallets with labels, ‘Kraken hot wallet’(25. M) , ‘Coinlist withdrawals’(12.7 M) , ‘Okex hot wallet’ (5.27 M) and ‘Coinlist deposi wallet’(4.9 M) had the highest balance of $Flow. The balance of other wallets with label, was less than 220 K $Flow.
In the below chart, I checked the swap activity for top wallets. I defined to wallets as wallets with %Flow balance greater than 10 K.
In total, 5.77 M wallets holds $Flow, which the total average balance of them is 65 $Flow.
More than 99.5% of holders, hold less than 5 $Flow. Only 0.02% of them hold more than 1 K $FLow.
In the below table, you can see the top 10 holders of $Flow which hold the highest amount of $Flow by the time of writing this dashboard:
In the first part of the dashboard, we saw that 370 wallets hold more than 10 K $Flow. But based on above analysis we can see that only 155 of them did swap activities which is only 41% of these whales.
These whales swappers, did 73.4 K swaps in total which had the total volume of 115.8 M $Flow.
Although Aug, Sep and Jan 2022, the highest count of swaps was submitted by them, but the highest count of whales did swaps on Oct 2021, Jan 2022 and Sep 2021, respectively. less than 30 of these whales(which is 8% of whales who own more than 10 K $Flow) did swap in each month from Feb 2022(except in 2 months).
The highest volume of swaps was in Oct, Nov 2021 and Jan 2022, respectively. In average, each whale swapper on Jan 2022 did a swap with an average volume of 151.5 K $Flow, while this average volume was 205 K $Flow on Oct 2021 and was 169 K $Flow in the recent month.
USDT to FLOW and the reverse path, were the two swap pairs that the highest volume of swaps for these whales was done for them. These two pairs had also the highest count of swaps and swappers among defined whales. USDC to FLOW and the reverse path, were the two swap pairs which were in the next ranks of highest volume of swaps.
Conclusion
