What is Aave?

Founded by Stani Kulechov in 2017 and officially launched on the Ethereum blockchain in January 2020, Aave is a DeFi protocol that bridges lenders and borrowers. Lenders, who are also known as suppliers, supply the funds for borrowers to borrow. On the other hand, borrowers are users who borrow in the form of loans. There are currently two main types of loans for users which are overcollateralized and undercollateralized loans.
