What's Going On With Gnosis?
Observations
- We can see that since the beginning of September 2022, the total number of users with at least one transaction peaked three times compared to the number of users who has more than one transaction.
- We define the events on September 28 and October 5 for the addresses with at least one transactions as anomal events.
- The plot shows that the users that caused the spikes, only performed a single transactions.
Observations
acoording the left data we can see daily transctions fee on gnosis
in 29 sep we had the most fee in last 30days ago
with 183
after it 21sep
with 100
and in 29 sep we had the most average transaction fee
in 29 sep we had the most transctions fee
but with low transactions
and in 5 oct we had the most transactions with mostly lowest fee
Observation
according the above data we can see transcations based on types
the 73% of transctions are related to transfer event after it deposit with12.2% and withdrawal with 10%

Introduction
Gnosis Chain is an Ethereum-based sidechain with the stated goal of drastically lowering transaction fees and speeding up confirmation times, and its native coin is XDAI. It's a one-to-one representation of the DAI token on Ethereum, whose value is fixed at one US dollar per token.
The term "Layer 2" is used to refer to a group of Ethereum scaling solutions. Layer 2 blockchains are independent blockchains that build upon Ethereum while still benefiting from the network's security features.
Sybil attack: For the purpose of exerting undue influence on a network, an attacker may resort to a Sybil attack, in which they create a large number of fictitious user accounts under the guise of innocent-looking people.
What's Going On With Gnosis?
There’s been some unusual activity with Gnosis as pointed out by our community. Time to figure out exactly what’s going on.
Take a deep dive into recent activity on Gnosis, especially recent rapid rises in the number of active users, transactions, and more. Make any hypothesis you can about what is driving this activity. Is there a new dapp that launched? Is there some incentive program going on? Or is the spike in users/txns due to some sybil attack?
Note any trends or outliers you see.
Methodology
in this dashboard we will analyze Gnosis chain activity
i use flipside data for analysis this dashboard
subject in this dashboard:
- Analysis active users and new users
- analysis transactions and fee
- analysis Xdai transfer
- analysis top recipient of transactions based on transactions and user

Observations
- We can see that the number of transactions peaked at September 20, and October 5 to 7. The difference, though, is that the number of transactions peak at September 20 with a gentle slope, while in October the slope was significantly steeper.
- Also, we saw that the number of active users peaked at October 5, but the number of transactions peaked for 3 days while the number of active users were not as high.
- There was a high number of failed transactions in this period, which we will analyze in the next section.
Transcation Service Migration
A scheduled migration of the public transaction indexer (safe-transaction-service) will result in some downtime throughout the month of October 2022. We will migrate from the existing domain (*gnosis.io 5) to our new domain (*safe.global). During this period some features in the https://gnosis-safe.io/ 5 web and mobile applications as well as other applications using the public transaction service may be restricted.
Expect downtimes of 2-3 hours each starting on:
13th October - 9am CEST
- Goerli
- Volta
- EWC
17th October - 9am CEST
- Aurora
- Arbitrum
- Avalanche
- Optimism
18th October - 9am CEST
- Polygon
- BSC
20th October - 9am CEST
- Gnosis Chain xDAI
24th October - 9am CEST
- Ethereum Mainnet
