Q11. Identify accounts that have staked ETH with Lido when the price of ETH was much higher or much lower than it is now. Have they held or sold their stETH?
In this dashboard, I analyzed the number of people that HODLtheir stETH. The price of ETH at the time of analysis was around 1500$ so for the ETH prices higher than the current price considered prices more than 2000$ and for the ETH prices lower than the current price I considered prices less than 1000$. Also for the period of time, I considered all the data that were available since the beginning ofLIDO.
In the following graph, you can see dates that ETH had higher prices than 2000$ (Blue) and lower prices than 1000$ (Orange)
The following graphs are related to the users that staked their ETH when ETH had higher prices than 2000$. You can see the number of wallets that staked ETH (and received stETH) and the daily amount of staked ETH respectively.
As you can see there is a little similarity between the behaviors of these two graphs. On August 14th 2021, 1103 wallets staked ETH (The highest number of wallets); on August 28th, 2021, around 73.286k ETH staked on LIDO (the highest amount of daily stake).
The following table shows the list of all the wallets staked ETH and their stake time.
The following graphs are related to the users that staked their ETH when ETH had lower prices than 1000$. You can see the number of wallets that staked ETH (and received stETH) and the daily amount of staked ETH respectively.
On December 19th, 2020, 163 wallets staked ETH (The highest number of wallets), and on December 27th, 2020 around 3.433k ETH staked on LIDO (the highest amount of daily stake).
The following table shows the list of all the wallets staked ETH and their stake time.
In the following tables, you can see the list of holders ( Holding >=1 stETH for both high and low ETH prices respectively) and the amount of stETH they had on June 10th, 2022.
Overall around 26.44k wallets staked ETH when the price of ETH was higher than 2000$ and around 9.78k of them still have their stETH which means 36.98% of them are Holders. On the other hand, we had less percentage of holders. Around 787 wallets staked ETH when the price of ETH was lower than 1000$ and Around 58 of them still have their stETH which means 7.36% of them are Holders.
Overall around 1.256m ETH were staked when the price of ETH was higher than 2000$ and around 91.4m stETH is available in their wallets which means they swapped ETH to stETH almost 73 times of their first stake. On the other hand, Around 18.23k ETH were staked when the price of ETH was lower than 1000$ and Around 13.3k stETH is still available in their wallets which means they unstaked around 5k stETH ( swapped stETH to ETH).
- When the ETH price was higher than 1000$, more users staked their ETH
- The first group (ETH>2000$), has a higher amount of stETH now
- The second group (ETH<1000$), has a lower amount of stETH now
- The number of Holders decreased significantly in both groups ( 63.02% and 92.64% decreased)
