User Segmentation Analysis

Last week we analyzed how users join pools, single or double-sided, which showed that most users join two-sided. This means that most users are already engaged within the Osmosis ecosystem.

    Methodology

    for this dashboard we useosmosis.core.fact_transfers, osmosis.core.fact_transactions, osmosis.core.fact_liquidity_provider_actions,osmosis.core.fact_staking,osmosis.core.fact_swaps, osmosis.core.dim_tokens, osmosis.core.dim_prices tables.

    Dashboard include following sections :

    1. New Osmosis Users
    2. New Osmosis Users by First Action
    3. New Osmosis Swappers by to Asset
    4. New Osmosis LPs by Pool

    Overview & History

Osmosis is Layer-1, Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain built using the Cosmos SDK that has optimized its design to be a sandbox for automated market makers (AMMs). The chain enables developers to design and deploy customized AMMs by using its various modules and leveraging Osmosis' on-chain governance system. Osmosis' native token, OSMO, grants holders the right to vote on proposed network changes and earn rewards for helping secure the network. Its first application, also called Osmosis, is an AMM that features ATOM and OSMO as its initial base trading pairs.

The inter-blockchain communication protocol (IBC) creates communication between independent blockchains. IBC achieves this by specifying a set of structures that can be implemented by any distributed ledger that satisfies a small number of requirements.

    IBC

IBC facilitates cross-chain applications for token transfers, swaps, multi-chain contracts, and data sharding. At launch, Osmosis utilizes IBC for token transfers. Over time, Osmosis will add new features that are made possible through IBC.

82.8% of all first liquidity actions on Osmosis are users depositing into pool 1 or ATOM/OSMO pool.

5.23% of all first liquidity actions on Osmosis are users depositing into pool 497 or JUNO/OSMO.

On Jan , Feb and March 2022, we see increasing trend in first liquidity actions on Osmosis.

On March 14, we have largest number of new osmosis LPs by first actions.
