This analysis is a review on the Flow NFT projects that appear to have the most crossover of buyers with NBA Top Shot addresses.
NBA Top Shot allows users to buy, sell, and collect NBA NFTs that showcase influential “Moments” minted on the FLOW blockchain. Ultimately, the system operates just like trading cards, except that it combines NBA highlights and digital art. The NBA licenses reels to Dapper Laps, who then creates Moments from the footage. Moments are video highlights that have been attached to NFTs. Each has a unique digital serial number that guarantees the authenticity and indicates how rare the Moment is. Moments are the foundation that make up the Top Shot ecosystem.

To assess the influence of the NBA Top Shot collection in other Flow collections let's compare the number of sales each collection has.
The previous chart shows that the collection that has had the most amount of sales is TopShot, with 77% out of sales of the top 10 collections and 678k sales. The second one is All Day with around 10% and 91k sales. Finally, the third one is UFC NFT with 5.08% and 45k sales. We can see that there is a huge difference between the top 3 projects.
We can see that since the NBA Top Shot collection was created, 35.2k distinct wallets bought them. This might seem a high number, but it makes sense as there are new "Moments" released often for people to buy them.

In the chart above we observe a distribution of the number of times a wallet has bought an NBA Top Shot NFT. The more NFTs bought, the less users that have done so, forming an exponential distribution.
Considering a whale to be an account that has bought more than 500 NFTs of the NBA Top Shot collection, we have done a crossover with the other collections in the Flow blockchain. The number of whales that bought other collections is very similar for PACKNFT, AllDay and RCRDSHPNFT. Out of 109 whales, there are around 35 and 40 that also bought these other top 3 collections. On the other hand, only 10 whales also purchased UFC NFTs.
The mix of NBA and NFTs has definitely been a great catch for many people. The NBA is the most watched basketball league around the world, and the players have such high level in the game that there are new "Moments" constantly done every month to be converted into NFTs. As the NFT space gets more attention, fans of this sport will be attracted by this collection. Once you have an NFT you keep wanting more, so just by keeping a constant number of NFTs being released periodically, it already gives other collections some chances to be seen as they learn more about the Flow blockchain and its NFT marketplaces.
