    Earlier this year, Optimism offered an airdrop to users. Let’s examine the airdrop after a few months.

    How many users claimed optimism airdrop? How much of total airdrop was claimed? How many wallets are still holding tokens from airdrop? How much of users delegated their OPs?

    Methodology:

    To get the data, mostly the fact_events_log tables were used and then separated by claim to get those who were active

    Earlier this year, Optimism offered an airdrop to users. This token $OP is mainly used for governance and can be found across various liquidity pools

    Explanation & Insights:

    • It can be seen that of the total 154M claimed amount, 150M or more than 96% was claimed within the first week itself
    • Also, we see most of the claimers to be active in the initial days itself and the number to fall drastically over time
    • Most of them have sold a portion of the tokens they’ve received (about 90%) while 10% haven’t made any sell transactions ever since receiving their tokens
    • The top 5 claimers account for less than half of all claims made implying a fair distribution overall
    • Even by delegations there is a fair distribution among the choice of delegator among the claimers

    • about 70% of those who have claimed have delegated their tokens!
    • In all about 105k wallets are delegating while there are more than 150k distinct claimers
