NFT royalties are payments that compensate original NFT creators for the use of their non-fungible tokens (NFTs). In business, royalties generally pay the creator a percentage of sales or profits. With NFTs, royalties are usually set by the owner during the minting process.

Method
In this dashboard, im going to analyze Solana NFTs royalties and mints and see what are users prefer to use? 0% marketplaces or royalty marketplaces? also im going to take a look at ethereum users and what do they do with this case.
I extracted the data from ==Solana.core== database provided by Flipsidecrypto and used ==“solana.core.fact_nft_mints”== (for mints data), ==“solana.core.dim_nft_metadata”== and ==“solana.core.dim_labels”== (for collection’s label), ==“solana.core.fact_nft_sales”== & ==“solana.core.fact_transfers”== (for sales and royalty data) and ==“ethereum.core.ez_nft_sales”== (for Ethereum NFT sales and royalty data) tables.
Observations📃
- The above charts are showing the top 10 NFT Collections on Solana chain by their total Mint and Royalty SOL Volume.
- As we see, the Transdimensional Fox Federation (TFF) Collection is the most popular collection on solana in terms of Mint Volume with 138.5K SOL, in the other hand, we have Okay Bears and Degen Apes with a pretty close Royalty Volume of 0.99M and 0.88M.
Observations📃
- The charts are showing monthly number and volume of top solana NFT collections and their monthly share.
- Recently since the beginning of August, the ABC collection recorded massive number of sales and got everyone attention on Solana network.
- As the time passes, the number of NFT collections on solana is increasing and the monthly share of sales and volume are being divided among them.
- As we saw earlier in the previous section, Degods and Degen Apes are 2 of the most popular collections on Solana and as we see, they are accounting most of the sales volume of almost every months.
- Okay Bears recorded some pretty big amount of sales volume in the second quarter of 2022.
Observations📃
- In this section, at first we see monthly solana nft sales by collection types and then we explore monthly price floor and ceiling of top Solana collections over time.
- It is obvious that most of the nft sales and sales volume on solana blockchain are for royalty reliant collections (Over 90%).
- Starting in March 2022 royalty reliant collections started to have much more sales than mint-reliant collections.
- Since the start of mid-2021, the price and volume of the top NFTs that are reliant on royalties have been greater than one relying on mint funds.
- As we see, majority of NFT collections (which all of them are defined Royalty Reliants) have experienced rise in their Floor and Ceiling over time. So, we can say the floor price and price ceiling of Royalty Reliant collections is increasing more and more over time.
Observations📃
- In this section i analyzed the marketplaces sales on solana but this time with Wash sale and non wash sale types over time.
- We see that over 90% of market places sales is for Magic Eden v1 & v2
- Magic Eden recorded over 17M nft sales over time and over 16M of these sales were belongs to Non wash sales.
Observations📃
- These charts are showing daily solana number of nft sales and sales volume by Royalty marketplaces and 0% marketplaces.
- After the beginning of November 2021, Royalty market places stats started to increase dramatically and its sales recorded an all-time high on Jan 15th 2022 with over 45K sales just for royalty marketplaces while 0% market places had less than 3K sales.
- After that day, royalty stats started to decrease and recorded a huge fall at mid February 2022.
- After late May 2022, 0% marketplaces took royalty marketplaces place in stats and recorded so much more number of sales and sales volume than royalty marketplaces.

In the charts above, i analyzed Ethereum monthly royalty fee and want to compare this metric to solana chain.

So, we can see similar to the Solana ecosystem, there were high number of sales without Royalty fees during the first months of the chart but after a while, we can see increasing share of sales with royalty fees over time. Currently, the share of sales with royalty fees is more than sales without royalty fees (despite Solana).
But, in terms of volume, we can see the share of sales without royalty fees are more than sales with high royalty fees. So, Totally, We can say Solana users are actually less likely to pay royalties compared to the Ethereum NFT traders !

- In this part i showed the top 10 collections in terms of sales volume on both Royalty marketplaces and 0% marketplaces.
- Degen Apes and Aurory are the most popular collections on 0% marketplaces with over 3M sales volume together.
- In the top 10 for royalty marketplaces chart we see that Okay Bears and Shadowy Super Coder (SSC) are the most popular collections on Royalty marketplaces with over 400K sales volume.
- It is interesting that popular collections on 0% marketplaces have recorded bigger amount of sales volume over time.
Conclusion
- Transdimensional Fox Federation (TFF) Collection had the highest mint volume among top 10 collections in terms of mint volume with over 138.5K SOL Volume.
- Okay Bears, Degen Apes and Degods are the top 3 collections among all collections in terms of Royalty Volume in SOL.
- Majority of NFT collections (which all of them are defined Royalty Reliants) have experienced rise in their Floor and Ceiling over time. So, we can say the floor price and price ceiling of Royalty Reliant collections is increasing more and more over time.
- Most of the nft sales and sales volume on solana blockchain are for royalty reliant collections (Over 90%).
- We see that over 90% of market places sales is for Magic Eden v1 & v2
