    How Autonomous Services Work
Autonomous services on Autonolas are made up of software agents that work together like a team. Each agent is run by a different individual or company, making the system decentralized and more reliable. If one agent goes down, the others can still keep things running smoothly. These services can run continuously, reacting to events outside of the blockchain—something smart contracts can't do. They can pull in data from various sources like AWS, IPFS, or any API, and even handle complex tasks like machine learning. What's great is that these services are secure because the agents agree on what the service should do through a process called consensus. This is powered by a software called Tendermint. Autonomous services can take actions on different blockchains, like Ethereum or Solana, and also work with traditional APIs. This makes them a bridge between the world of Web3 and the traditional tech world.
