Rebasing: The Staking contract periodically mints Floor Tokens. Qualifying stakers receive a premium on their staking total with these tokens. The blue line is the amount in USD that is added each time. We see a steady decrease in USD terms over time . The x axis is block numbers for the lulz.

How The Floor Token is Used.

There is one principle thing to do with the Floor token: One stakes it so as to gain rebasing rewards. In a system, modeled after Olympus, stakers send their floor to the staking contract, whereby gFLOOR is minted and transferred to the staker. When they unstake, the rebasing amount due them shows up in the increased amount of FLOOR received, upon cashing out.

Unlike Olympus, whose reserves are principally backed by DAI and other stable coins, FloorDAO chooses a reserve made up of ETH and NFTs, utilizing NFTx vaults (which act as a liquidity provider for qualifying NFTs). Through the sale of Bonds, and the profits generated for acting as an NFT market maker of sorts. When the treasury increases, more Floor is minted and distributed amongst the stakers.

Whether you received $FLOOR from bonding or by swapping for it, there is no reason not too stake $FLOOR if you are going to own $FLOOR. Such a decision is tantamount to deciding to buy Microsoft, but refusing to accept the dividends offered.

    Swapping

There is one main swapping pool. It is the Uniswap V3 Floor/ WETH pool. The contract address is

    '0xb386c1d831eed803f5e8f274a59c91c4c22eeac0'

Liquidity providing to the pool, does not appear to be an attractive option, compared to simply staking your $FLOOR. Only a few liquidity providing actions exist, for very large amounts, presumably by the protocol.

    Bonding:

When conditions are appropriate, FloorDAO may sell $FLOOR at a discount, aquiring NFTs in exchange. The bond contract is

    Concluding Thoughts:

Is it worth it? Who’s to say? Hindsight has 20-20. We can always look back and figure out where we should invest. One certainly is better off staking FLOOR if one chooses to own FLOOR.

Meanwhile, a third of those choosing to stake, have still remained staked.
