Introduction

In this dashboard we will look at active wallets with a high balance of ETH or in other words ETH whales. First we will what addresses have more than 400K ETH and visualize their ETH balance, Then we will see number of these addresses based on their type. Then we will look at normal addresses (who are not CEX, DEX, defi, dapp, layer 2,…) with balance more than 200K ETH and their ETH balance distribution. Next I will analyze CEX addresses with more than 100K ETH and visualize their ETH balance. Then we will see whales activity on May and June 2022 in terms of number of transactions and transfers and transactions volume. Finally I will visualize swaps with more than 1k ETH volume.

To do this analyze I have used Flipside Velocity workspace and flipside_prod_db.ethereum.erc20_balances table to identify whales, ethereum.core.fact_transactions table to analyze whales transactions, ethereum.core.ez_eth_transfers table to analyze whales transfers and ethereum.core.ez_dex_swaps table to find swaps with more than 1K ETH volume.

The following charts shows Ethereum addresses with more than 400,000 ETH. We can see there is 16 addresses who have balance more than 400,000 ETH on July 29, 2022. Also 9 of these addresses are CEXs, 4 are normal addresses, 2 of them are defi and 1 of them is dapp.

The highest balance is for launchpad.ethereum by 13.17M ETH, that is an Ethereum 2.0 Staking platform.

The following chart shows Ethereum normal addresses (who are not CEX, DEX, dapp, defi…) with more than 200K ETH.

0x0716a17fbaee714f1e6ab0f9d59edbc5f09815c0 with 1.95M ETH is the biggest whale and next big whale is 0x9bf4001d307dfd62b26a2f1307ee0c0307632d59 by 1.49M ETH.

The following chart shows the distribution of ETH balances for addresses (who are not CEX, DEX, dapp, defi…) with more than 100K ETH balance.

We can see 71.1% of these addresses have ETH balance between 100K to 200K.

And 2.41% of them have More than 1M ETH.

The following chart shows CEX addresses with more than 100K ETH in their wallet.

The highest ETH balance is for Kraken exchange by this address

kraken 13 and 2.11M ETH.

Second big ETH CEX is Binance by address binance 7 and 1.99M ETH.

And third big ETH CEX is Bitfinex by address bitfinex 5 and 1.34M ETH.

Analyze over May and June

In this section whales are addresses with more than 200K ETH balance.

Whale Transactions

The following charts shows number of transactions per day and daily volume of transactions that whales have done on May and June 2022.

We can see the most number of transactions have done by these whales was on May 10 by 30.282K.

Also the most transaction volume was on May 12 by 1.1M ETH and June 13 by 1.06M ETH.

Whale Transfers

The following charts shows number of ETH transfers per day and daily ETH volume of transfers that whales have done on May and June 2022.

We can see the most number of transfers have done by these whales was on May 10 by 24.419K.

Also the most transferred volume was on May 12 by 1.11M ETH and June 13 by 1.1M ETH.

Swaps with more than 1K ETH volume

The following charts shows number of ETH swaps per day and daily ETH volume of swaps on May and June 2022 where the swap volume was more than 1k ETH.

We can see the most number of swaps was on June 13 by 13 swaps.

Also the most swap volume was on June 13 by 50.29K ETH.

Conclusion

• The highest whale balance is for launchpad.ethereum by 13.17M ETH, that is an Ethereum 2.0 Staking platform.
