NEAR Performance

Introduction: NEAR is a layer 1 blockchain focused on speed, lost cost and cross chain interoperability. The purpose of this analysis is to compare NEAR’s speed and performance to other layer 1 blockchains.

Key Points:

• Solana processes the most transactions per minute (TPM) @ ~20-30k, almost 1,000x more than NEAR.
• Keep in mind, TPM is driven by blockchain usage/demand. The more NEAR is used, the higher the TPM.
• NEAR’s transaction failure rate averages ~5-10%, which is 2nd highest to Solana.

Methods:

• All data in the dashboard is per the last_n_days parameter at the top of the dashboard.
• Used each blockchain’s respective transactions table for all data and the tx_status column to determine failure rate.
