NEAR Performance
Q5. How does NEAR stock up to other L1s in terms of speed and performance? How fast is NEAR, and compare it with other blockchain speeds in terms of transactions per minute and percentage of transactions that fail.
Comparison between NEAR and L1 blockchains in terms of TPM
The following two Area charts show the TPM for the NEAR and other top L1 blockchains since Apr 2022. In this period Solana with an average of 16K TPM, ranked first place, and after that Polygon, with 1.7K TPM, placed second, and Algorand, with an average of 781 TPM, got the third rank. NEAR with 341 TPM has nothing to say compared to other blockchains and still needs working.
Note: To show better, we have to separate the Solana from other blockchains.
Conclusion:
- NEAR protocol Compared to other mentioned blockchains, ranked seventh in terms of TPM and second in terms of failed transactions.
- Since Apr 2022, Solana acquired the first rank with an average of 16K TPM, and 33.7% failed transactions.
- ETHEREUM, with 3.8%, had the least failed transactions.
Breakdown the NEAR transactions in terms of status
The bar chart on the right shows the number of transactions since Sep 2022 on the NEAR protocol. The trend in the number of transactions is similar to the previous chart. The point is that the number of False transactions increased in the two periods. The first period was from Dec 23rd to Jan 17th, and the second was from Apr 1st to May 13th.
Comparison Between NEAR and L1 Blockchains in terms of Percentage of Fail Transactions
The following bar chart compares the Top layer 1s blockchains in terms of the percentage of failed transactions since Apr 2022. Accordingly, with 33.7%, Solana had the most failed transactions, NEAR with 21% placed after that, and FLOW with 11.6% placed third. The point is ETHEREUM, with 3.86% had the least failed transactions.
Note: To run the query below the 15 Minutes, we have to separate the Solana from other blockchains.
