NBA Top Shot is ushering in a new era of digital basketball collectibles in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). This marketplace combines an experience akin to collecting traditional sports trading cards with the blockchain technology used in other NFT platforms.

As of September 2021, NBA Top Shot had more than 1 million registered users.

method

Obtaining the volume and number of transactions and comparing them together, as well as obtaining distinct holders of each nft type.

I used flow.core.DIM_TOPSHOT_METADATA , flow.core,FACT_NFT_SALES, FLOW.CORE.FACT_EVENTS tables.

The numbers show that since after July 12, the Transaction volume and deals of this nfts has decreased.

And the most transactions and volume were on July 8th.

These percentages show the frequency of each NFT based on nft types, that the highest percentage is for Rim and the lowest for 2-pointer.

• The most transactions are related to rims with 128,541k transactions and also 40.4% of all transactions.
• in the second place are 3-pointers with 49.217k transactions and including 15.5% of all transactions.
• in the last place goes to 2-pointers with 63 transactions and taking 0.0198% of all transactions.

• The highest volume is for rims with 3.022 million flow and 36.4% of the total volumes.
• 3pointers are in the second position of the volumes with 1.711 million flow and 20.6% of the total volumes.
• 2 pointers with a total volume of 1280 flows are placed at the last place of volumes.They have 0.0154% of the total volumes, which is very low

On average, each holder has 18.4 NFTs from the NBA topshot collection, which is a strange statistic!

• Rims have the largest number of NFTs and holders with 400,171k and 41,583k NFTs and holders.
• In the second rank of holders are assists with 29.072k holders.
• In the last rank are 2 pointers with 8 holders.

• The first place in the average number of NFTs per holder goes to rims with an average of 9.62, which is very impressive.

• The second rank of the average number of NFTs per holder is 3 pointers with an average of 5.43.

The information in this table contains holders with a total of more than 500 NFTs, whose first address is 137,632 NFTs from the NBA top shots collection, which is a very high figure.
