• NBA Top Shots NFT sales increased from April 20 to April 6 and have since declined.
• The total number of NFT sales from April 1 until today has reached 1.4 M NFTs.

The number of transactions vs the number of TopShot NFT sales :

The following chart shows the number of transactions and the percentage of TopShot NFT sales over time :

• percentage of TopShot NFT sales = (num_TopShot_sales/num_transactions)*100.

• On April 27, about 20% of transactions were related to the sale of Topshot NFTs. But the number of transactions that day on the Flow network was lower than on many other days. The same thing happened on May 1. May 4, May 11 and May 19 are other examples of this pattern.

• From June 9 to June 12, when the daily transactions of the Flow network reached their peak, the share of transactions related to Topshot NFTs is below 1%!

New Wallets :

The chart below shows the number of wallets created and the number of wallets bought TopShot NFT on the same day of creation of wallet per day :

Of the number of new wallets created on the Flow network, the share of wallets that were purchased TopShop NTFs on the same day was very small, and it can not be said that the TopShop NFTs had an impact on the number of new wallets created.

Concolusion :

In this analysis, we examined the sales of TopShot NFTs and the number of Topshot sales with and the percentage of TopShot NFT sales transactions relative to the total transactions. Then we looked at the number of wallets created on the Flow network and the wallets that bought TopShot NFTs on the same day they were created.

By the two metrics I examined in this analysis, it cannot be said that the sale of TopShot NFTs had a significant impact on the number of transactions and the number of new wallets created.
