Axelar - 12. Chain Swaps

Since February 23rd, you have been able to swap into 13 different Cosmos Chains via Squid: https://twitter.com/squidrouter/status/1628796403076964354?s=20 What chain has had the most activity?

Squid is a protocol that enables cross-chain liquidity routing and swaps through a single Javascript software development kit (SDK)¹. It allows users to swap any tokens across different blockchains, such as Ethereum and Cosmos, by connecting them to decentralized exchanges (DEXs) anywhere in Web3¹². Squid is powered by Axelar, which is a decentralized cross-chain messaging network that supports a large number of chains through an entirely decentralized protocol and messaging network⁴⁶. Squid raised $3.5 million in a seed round led by North Island Ventures in June 2022²³.

    Introduction

In this dashboard, I conduct a research on Squid that compares different chains in terms of their transaction activity and token transfer volume.

I use Flipside’s table axelar.core.ez_squid that tracks these chains as the origin of the transfers: Polygon, Ethereum, Avalanche, Binance and Arbitrum.

I analyze how much tokens have moved from these source chains to other destination chains and which one has been the most active in this regard.

Date of analysis of Since February 23rd
