Algorand is a new-gen blockchain that is bridging the decentralized and centralized world of finance. Its native crypto is ALGO.

Algorand Standard Assets run on the blockchain’s “Layer-1” and include fungible, non-fungible, restricted fungible, and restricted non-fungible assets.

Algorand's main feature is its Pure Proof of Stake consensus protocol that randomly selects validators weighted by their staked ALGO coin.

Users who stake their ALGO have the chance of being selected to propose and validate a new block, which is then verified by a randomly-selected committee. Once the block is added to the blockchain, all transactions are considered confirmed. If the block is deemed bad, a new user is selected as a validator, and the process starts again.

There are 4 major swap platforms on algorand. They are

Some of the things you can look at but should not be limited to: what assets do swappers hold, what is their ALGO balance, how often are they swapping, when was the wallet created.

Analysis

1. I start with first analyzing the top coins or assets the users are swapping into. That is, what assests are they taking from the DEX swap after depositing algo.

It is interesting to see that USDC is more swapped compared to USDt which is a market leader. Is this because of negative sentiment behind USDT ?. STBL a stable coin pegged to USD and is fully collaterlized performs better than USDt.

2. The top coins held by swappers

   I will now visualise the the top 10 coins that have been held by the swappers. I use the algorand swaos table to identify swappers, algorand accounts asset table to find coins held by swappers, the swap price table to find the equivanlent USD amount.

4. Type of users.

   Are the swappers only whales ? or they dolphins?

It appears that most of the users have only 0-100 algos as balnce ( close to 75% of users have less than 100 algos)

Only 10 % are whales ( 1000+ ) algos as balance.

3. Who are the top 10 users by algo balance

   Below is graph of balance of top 10 users.

5. We take a look at the top 10 swappers by swaps, average swaps per day and the day the wallet was created

It appears that most of the top swapper created their wallet in the first quarter of 2022.

Conclusion

1. More USDC swapped to than USDt and SBTL
2. It appears that most of the users have only 0-100 algos as balnce ( close to 75% of users have less than 100 algos).
3. It appears that most of the top swapper created their wallet in the first quarter of 2022.
