City Amidst the Storm
Nov 16, 2022 - Provide a thoughtful analysis of how NEAR is weathering the market turbulence that occurred as a result of FTX’ insolvency. You can include baseline measures, e.g. token price, transaction volume - but go beyond that and apply your analysis skills. Choose and define at least 2 measures of ecosystem health, and assess how NEAR is performing on those metrics between the week of 11/7 and 11/14.Grand prize winners will also compare NEAR to at least one other Layer 1 blockchain ecosystem (Solana, Algorand, Flow, etc.), using the 2 measures provided. The goal is to gain a better understanding of how both NEAR and other ecosystems respond to market conditions that heavily affect one of their peers (in this case, Solana). Some examples of health metrics: Unstaking - how many people are pulling up stake NFT sales vs. buys and if it’s materially changed (are people dumping their NFTs for capital) Stable % of trade activity — are users fleeing or buying the dip?
Open Analytics - SWEAT
Sep 20, 2022 - The SWEAT token has launched, to great fanfare! Give us your best open analysis of SWEAT's launch and the role of SWEAT in the NEAR ecosystem
NEAR Performance
Jul 21, 2022 - How does NEAR stock up to other L1s in terms of speed and performance? How fast is NEAR, and compare it with other blockchain speeds in terms of transactions per minute and percentage of transactions that fail.
FLOW Speed (redux)
Dec 10, 2022 - Flow is fast, but how fast? 6 months ago, we asked for a comparative analysis on blockchain speed - how has Flow increased its speed in transaction per minute since? Compare Flow and other L1 blockchains in terms of speed: identify the monthly average for transactions per minute, and how that's improved or worsened since the beginning of 2022. What types of events have raised or decreased the blockchain's performance over that time period? Are there bursts of transaction volume or interest on the chain? Compare Flow's speed to at least two other blockchains.
World Cup of Bounties( Flipside's World Cup Kick Off: Gas Guzzlers )
Nov 16, 2022 - Welcome to Flipside's World Cup of Bounties. To celebrate the arrival of the FIFA World Cup, we'll be holding a tournament to determine the top bounty hunters in the world across several blockchains, projects, and more. This year's theme is cross-chain comparisons. To qualify for this tournament, create a gas tracking dashboard that looks at gas usage by a chain over the last couple of months. Include Ethereum, Solana, Algorand, Flow, NEAR, Optimism and Osmosis, and add any other chain you think is worth noting. Breakout the following metrics by a chain in the dashboard Total amount USD of gas spent on the chain in the last 30 days. Average cost of gas in USD per $1,000,000 of liquidity transferred on each chain 30 days Average block gas price hourly and daily The top 10 addresses on each chain that spend the most on gas in the past month Daily amount spent on gas by chain tracked over the last 30 days Chart gas spend to network token price Add any other metrics you think would be useful for someone to understand the different costs of gas by chain to help your dashboard standout. Just like the real thing, only 32 entrants can advance to the tournament stage of the World Cup of Bounties — and receive payment for this bounty. Only the most stellar dashboards submitted will make it to the next round, so get creative with your analysis to stand out ! NOTE: Tournament participants can compete as individuals or as teams. Teams should only submit one dashboard per round and are responsible for distributing payment amongst themselves.
NEAR - 11. Insight of the Week (Stake/UnStake)
Feb 6, 2023 - The NEAR Foundation is running an "Insight of the Week" series. Keeping your analysis short and focused on excellent-quality visualization - provide the most fascinating or illuminating fact or insight that you can about the NEAR ecosystem, or any of the projects building on NEAR, over the past 7 to 14 days. When you tweet about the insight, don't just describe it - do your best to explain "why" what you chose is unusual, valuable, or noteworthy. If you're stumped, don't worry - we'll be running this type of bounty again in the future, so feel free to use this as a "test case" to begin thinking creatively and searching out clever insights.
Untitled Board
Nov 8, 2022 - How centralized or decentralized is NEAR, really? Choose at least two distinct measures of decentralization that can be explored with on-chain data; clearly define those metrics; and outline how NEAR performs based on those metrics. In your view, is NEAR becoming more centralized or decentralized over time? You are welcome to draw on any past submissions in your work, but ensure you credit and link to the original creator (bonus points if you shout them out on Twitter). Grand Prize submissions will also explore these metrics for at least one other blockchain.
